Margaret (Meg) Baker, PhD

Patent Agent

 

Meg focuses her IP practice around evaluating and patenting biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and bioprocessing inventions. She has extensive experience in antibody derived biologics, biosimilars, drug delivery, enzymatic and biomarker related tests, and chemical modifications to biologics such as pegylation and antibody-drug conjugates.

 

She has over 25 years of combined experience in the pharmaceutical development and academic research. Meg became interested in the patenting process as an inventor, and subsequently worked with a management consulting group to evaluate technologies and patent landscapes for a wide range of clients. She is a skilled patent searcher and patent analyst.

 

 

Margaret Baker

Dr. Baker studied Biochemistry at U.C. Berkeley, earned an M.S. from Columbia University, and was awarded a Ph.D. from U.C. Davis in Nutrition and Pharmacology. At Stanford and U Penn Med Schools, she worked and published in the area of oxidative damage and repair from natural substances, radiation and chemical damage, and has presented on this work. She was a patent liaison with the Johnson & Johnson Corporate Law Department from 2001 to 2012 supporting their biopharmaceutical products including Remicade®. Dr. Baker is a registered Patent Agent, licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.  Some examples services provided to companies are:
